Because we receive a large volume of nominations for these awards, the judging process is very time consuming. Your cooperation in abiding to our guidelines and sending useful information will help us choose winners more easily, and it will increase your chances of winning.
What is "useful" information? Check out these 10 guidelines for submitting a product via our nomination form:
- Please read the judging criteria in the left column of the entry form and use it as a guide. Entries may be disqualified if you do not provide the information required.
- If your product wasn't first shipped (or wasn't significantly upgraded) between September 30, 2006 and October 1, 2007, it is not eligible. We recognize shipping products only -- no betas! Shipping means the product is widely available to anyone who wants to buy it.
- Enter your product into the appropriate category. If you're not sure, contact an editor for guidance. Do not enter your product in more than one category!
- For new versions of existing products, do not forget to indicate the previous version number/name.
- Please do not send pre-written marketing materials. Use the award submission form to give judges a fresh perspective on your product(s).
- Answer the questions as clearly and succinctly as possible. Avoid using buzzwords, marketing statements and generalities.
- Submit specific numbers when it comes to performance claims, pricing, data deduplication ratios and capacity. When using a numerical value to describe something, give a baseline number for comparison purposes -- otherwise it is meaningless.
- If you do not receive a confirmation page thanking you for your submission, please contact Sarah Lourie, Special Projects Editor. The deadline for submissions is November 9, 2007.
- Please do not call the editors to let us know you have submitted an entry or ask about the winners. We will contact the winners when the results are tallied. Thank you!
- Do not miss the deadline for submission. Late entries will be deleted. The deadline for submissions: November 9, 2007.
